June Newsletter

Dear Parents and Dancers,

It’s June! Wow what a wonderful year with all of you, filled with great memories. Thanks to all our parents for endless support, and our dancers for constant joy and endless energy! We love you! This has been an amazing year at eMotion with so much progress. We have noticed great improve- ments in our dancers... not just turns, leaps and tricks, but in the maturity of movement itself. Congratulations to all our company dancers on a fantastic competition season! We were proud of and thrilled with everyone. We all owe appreciation to our fabulous teachers who have given with all of their hearts this year. We are so lucky to have such excellent professionals in every genre. It is with a big sigh I say goodbye to the choreography we love and look ahead to next year. Without question, it will be better than the last as usual. We love our dance family and thank you all for the special place you have at eMotion.

Lots of love, Julie Brown

April 21, 2012

I am so pleased to release the results of our last competition on Saturday. We did it again gals! It was another thrilling day for eMotion. Every single company did a fantastic job and we are so proud of everyone. Although our results from the judges were amazing over-all, keep in mind that each category has a range in level and age. At times we noticed the dancers we competed against were much older and in some cases more advanced. That is just how it goes sometimes and it is ok. We performed well and stood out every time we took the stage. Our brilliant teaching staff helps set us apart from all the rest.

Congratulations to everyone for the most prestigious award of the day, Overall Studio Sweepstakes Champions 2012!! That was the best victory of all. This was awarded to the studio with the highest overall average of points. Every dancer and every teacher made this happen. What a happy and successful day!

May Newsletter

Dear Parents and Dancers,

It’s May! In just six weeks we will cel- ebrate a great year of dance with our year-end concert. So much to do in so little time! We are finishing dances and fine-tuning competition pieces. Please don’t get spring fever and miss dance classes. We want our last concert to be our best because it is our biggest and most important audience. Hang in there everyone! We need 100% attendance through June 7th. Our teachers are pushing hard to reach their technique goals with each class and tap, ballet, and hip-hop choreography is reaching the time to start the cleaning process. Enjoy every minute and get your money’s worth! As we look forward to company try-outs June 2nd, it may be a good time to take extra technique classes and even tumbling. As dancers gain more skill, their confidence flourishes.

Lots of love, Julie Brown

April Newsletter

Dear Parents and Dancers,

There are just 2 1/2 months left in this dance year. It is hard to believe! This has been a great year watching all our dancers grow technically while gaining ability in movement styles. I think as our dancers and parents have the opportunity to see other studios perform, they gain an appreciation for the attention to style and movement that our exceptional teachers give. We learn that dance is more than turns and leaps and that as our dancers learn to use their core and feel and interpret music, a higher level of art is achieved. We are lucky to have such high-caliber dance professionals teaching our children.

As we look forward to company try-outs June 2nd, it may be a good time to take extra technique classes and even tumbling. As dancers gain more skill, their confidence flourishes.

In just a short time we will have 2 concerts and 2 competitions for those on company. This is the fun and rewarding time of the year. I hope we all enjoy every minute! I am grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people such as all of you!

Lots of love, Julie Brown

Aspire Dance Pro Results

March 17th, 2012

Congratulations eMotion Dance! We must have had the luck of the irish with us last Saturday at the competition! It could be that we just have the best, cutest dancers around... and it could be that our teachers are the most creative and talented choreographers in the state... and it could be that our dances are the most original to be found... and it could be that our costumes are the best...but in any case... WE ROCKED THE HOUSE at the Aspire Dance Pro Competition! Way to go eMotion!

In the mini, junior & teen age groups combined there were only 11 Diamonds given the whole day and eMotion received 7 of the diamonds!! The other four diamonds were spread out between the other 8 studios. In this competition even getting a Ruby was a huge honor!

March Newsletter

Dear Parents and Dancers,

Just four months left in our dance year and all the fun is about to start! All those hours of hard work will culminate at the Year-End Concert, the Choreographer’s Concert and the upcoming competitions. Performing is the best part of being a dancer. We take great care to be sure each dancer is prepared to have a rewarding experience. Attendance to class each week ensures that our dancers will feel confidence and joy as performances approach instead of fear and uncertainty. Missing class is hard on the dancer, the group as a whole, and the teacher. Please be considerate to others and enjoy all that eMotion has to offer by being in class every week. We promise you will get your moneys worth! We love our dancers so much. It is a joy to share this wonderful artform with such amazing families. Keep up the hard work & fun everyone!

Lots of love, Julie Brown
